Managed

We deploy and operate DataBridge on your infrastructure. You provide the hardware and rack space — we handle software, network, monitoring, and incident response.

How Managed Works

The Managed tier is for teams that have datacenter space and network connectivity but want DataBridge fully configured and operated by our engineering team. You own the hardware — whether that is servers you already have or new servers you procure to our specifications. We take over everything above the rack: software deployment, cloud connectivity, fleet monitoring, alerting, incident response, software updates, and capacity planning.

This is the right tier for teams that want a production-grade data pipeline without building an internal DevOps function around it. Your operators focus on the physical workflow — plugging in devices, managing batches, handling field logistics — while our team ensures the software and network infrastructure runs continuously at full throughput. We treat your ingest fleet as part of our own infrastructure: same monitoring, same alerting, same incident response procedures we use for our internal deployments.

Managed deployments typically serve teams processing 5-50 TB per day across 2-20 ingest servers. Common environments include robotics labs running egocentric capture campaigns, film and VFX studios ingesting dailies from on-set capture, drone operations processing aerial survey data, and scientific research facilities archiving instrument output to cloud storage for downstream analysis and model training.

Onboarding Timeline

Week 1

Kickoff & Access

We schedule the kickoff call, collect SSH access or VPN credentials for your servers, review your network topology, and finalize the cloud backend configuration (S3 bucket, IAM roles, region). We also review your team's operator roster for Tag and Ops app distribution.

Week 2

Software Deployment

DataBridge Core is deployed to every ingest server — configuration validated, systemd services enabled, buffer drives formatted and mounted, USB hub detection verified. We run synthetic ingest tests with test devices to validate the full pipeline: device detection, buffer copy, manifest generation, cloud upload, and ETag verification.

Week 3

Direct Line & Monitoring

We provision the dedicated network connection between your datacenter and cloud provider. For facilities with on-net providers (Equinix, CoreSite, Digital Realty), cross-connects are provisioned directly. BGP peering is established, and S3 Gateway VPC endpoints are configured. DataBridge Watch is deployed and connected to every server's telemetry feed. Alert routing rules are configured for your team's channels.

Week 4

Validation & Handover

Full end-to-end validation with real production devices — we ingest a representative batch through the complete pipeline and verify every file lands in cloud storage with matching SHA-256 hashes. Operator training sessions for Tag and Ops. Runbook handover covering common operational procedures. Go-live confirmation and transition to 24/7 monitoring.

SLA & Monitoring

Managed deployments include Standard support by default — 4-hour response time for critical issues during business hours, with 24/7 automated monitoring and alerting. Critical alerts (server offline, integrity check failure, upload stall exceeding threshold) are routed to our on-call engineer immediately, regardless of business hours. Warning-level alerts (disk utilization above 85%, throughput degradation, elevated error rate) create tickets for next-business-day investigation.

For teams that need faster response times and dedicated coverage, Premium support upgrades to 1-hour critical response with 24/7 human coverage. See our support tiers page for the full comparison. Every Managed deployment includes a monthly operational review covering throughput trends, error rates, capacity forecasts, and cloud cost optimization recommendations — S3 Intelligent-Tiering, Glacier lifecycle policies, and Direct Connect circuit right-sizing based on actual utilization.
